Your expert knowledge is needed - Please contribute to a research study into professional identity in correctional nursing
Posted 3 days ago by Sue Smith

Your voice matters! Correctional nurses are invited to participate in a national study examining Professional Identity in Correctional Nursing. This survey will be the first to utilize the standardized PINS-3 instrument developed by Landis et al (2022;2025) and used across the discipline of nursing. Professional Identity in Nursing includes 4 domains:
- Values and ethics,
- Knowledge,
- Nurse as leader, and
- Professional comportment.
By taking part, you will contribute to building a clearer picture of what sets our specialty apart, using a nursing metric that defines what it means to be a nurse working in secure environments. Other things you need to know:
- Participation is voluntary and anonymous.
- No personal identifiers are collected. Data will be analyzed in aggregate form only.
- IRB Exemption #: BB2511DS-148
Do you have 15 minutes? Please help us shape the evidence base for correctional nursing practice and workforce development.
