We are very pleased to announce that the May, 2025 Correctional Medicine Grand Rounds will feature Michael Neeki, DO who will speak on hand infections in the correctional medicine setting. 

Dr. Neeki,  D.O., M.S., FACEP, FAME, FACCP, CCHP-CPis a fellow of American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine, American College of Correctional Physicians and Society of Academic Medical Educators. Dr. Neeki is actively involved in medical education, serving as a clinical professor of emergency medicine. Throughout his career, he has contributed to collaborative research programs addressing healthcare disparities and has received numerous awards for his dedication to advancing science and humanitarian efforts.

"Evaluation and Treatment of Hand Infections in the Correctional Setting"

Objectives:

1) Understand the importance of effective evaluation and treatment of hand infections in the correctional medicine setting.

2) Learn how to properly evaluate and triage hand infections on-site effectively.

3) Discuss the importance of developing strategies for early nursing care and provider referral in the treatment of hand infections.

4) Discover lessons learned through case presentations on the topic.

Going forward, Grand Rounds will be held on the second Wednesday of every month at 7:30 PM Eastern time.

Grand Rounds sessions are free to all attendees. We encourage you to invite your friends and colleagues to attend this session, which will inform us on practical measures we can take to improve care for hand infections in the correctional setting.
