This presentation will discuss the types of wounds commonly seen in incarcerated persons, review basic wound care principles, discuss procedures for assessing and accurately documenting wounds, and explore strategies for managing wounds in secure and resource-limited settings.

Mr. Paynter is certified in wound care and as a wound, skin and ostomy nurse. He has served as the Director of Statewide Wound Care services for the Florida Department of Corrections for 5 years, assisting physicians and nurses with advanced wound management and formulated the Advanced Wound Care Model for Centurion Correctional Healthcare.
Wound and Ostomy Care Nurse
Mrs. Paynter is a certified wound and ostomy care nurse who provides wound care services to incarcerated people in the Florida Department of Corrections. She assists physicians and nurses in providing advanced wound care services.
